Steve Brown

Managing Director EMEA

Steve Brown joined Apollo Fire Detectors as Managing Director with regional responsibility for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in April 2015.

Steve has an excellent record of growth and business transformation in his previous roles, and joined Apollo from ITW, where he was Group President of the International Catering Equipment division.

Steve read Engineering at the University of Cambridge and gained an MSc in Aeronautics from Cranfield. His career history includes positions as Senior Engineer in research at British Aerospace, and Project Manager for a UK-based consultancy, before joining ITW in France. At ITW, Steve led a number of companies across many countries, overseeing over 1000 employees.

Pete Browitt

Global Finance Director

Pete Browitt joined Apollo Fire Detectors as Global Finance Director in May 2016.

Pete graduated with a BSc in Physics from the University of York. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and his career encompasses a variety of financial roles at 3M and Halma. Most recently, Pete held the post of Finance Director at Avire - another Halma company. He was also appointed as Halma Fire Sub Sector Finance Director, a position that he continues to hold in addition to his role at Apollo.

Ed Browning

Sales & Marketing Director

Ed Browning joined Apollo Fire Detectors as Sales and Marketing Director in September 2015.

Ed graduated in Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, and also gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Marketing in South Africa. He has extensive sales and marketing experience, gained over 25 years with companies which include Unilever, Black & Decker and the Coleman Outdoor Company.

Karl Westhead

Technical Director

Karl Westhead joined Apollo Fire Detectors as Technical Director in April 2016.

Karl graduated from Durham and Loughborough Universities with degrees in Electronics and Automotive Engineering. He started his professional career, firstly at Ford and later with Visteon. Most recently, Karl was Engineering Director at Avire, also a Halma company.
