Heat Detectors

The heat detector operates by using a matched pair of thermistors to sense heat. One thermistor is exposed to the ambient temperature, the other is sealed. In normal conditions, the two thermistors register similar temperatures, but, on the development of a fire, the temperature recorded by the exposed thermistor will increase rapidly, resulting in an imbalance of the thermistors and causing the detector to change to the alarm state.

Optical Smoke Detector

The optical smoke detector uses an internal pulsing LED and a photo-diode at an obtuse angle. In the event of smoke entering the chamber, the light pulse from the LED will be scattered and registered by the photo-diode. The detector will then enter the alarm state and the indicator LED lights up.

Integrating Optical Smoke Detector

The integrating optical smoke detector uses an internal pulsing LED and a photo-diode at an obtuse angle. AlarmSense Base

AlarmSense detectors can only be mounted into the AlarmSense Base. The base is used for installing detectors that do not require an integral sounder or sounder beacon.

The AlarmSense Sounder Beacon Base is designed to be used with AlarmSense detectors only.

AlarmSense Sounder Base

The AlarmSense Sounder Base can only be used with AlarmSense detectors. It is fitted with electronic circuitry to monitor the presence of detectors and signals any unauthorised removal of detector heads. It is supplied with a high or low volume setting and caps are available for stand-alone installation.

AlarmSense Alarm Relay

The AlarmSense Alarm Relay enables devices such as beacons, pillow/bed alarms and radio vibrating or paging devices to be connected to the fire detection system. This allows the system to comply with the requirements of the DDA.

AlarmSense Manual Call Point

The AlarmSense Manual Call Point is compliant with EN54:11. It is different from other
conventional call points in that it can be detected as an operated call point rather than a detector that has changed to the alarm state.
