IT Systems Engineer

An opportunity has arisen for an IT Systems Engineer to join the IT team. The key purpose of this role is to provide a single point of contact for management, users and external partners in the care and maintenance of the Apollo IT Technical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• To maintain systems availability and performance within defined SLA parameters
• Maintain infrastructure and network performance within defined SLA parameters
• Manage the SQL database performance and ensure appropriate backups are carried out
• Perform analysis, diagnosis and resolution of problems relating to server and business applications and recommend and implement corrective action
• Liaise with third party suppliers and support organisations
• Produce KPI’s and metrics
• Administer user accounts, permissions and access rights
• Maintain the disaster recovery system
• Provide IT support to overseas offices as required
• Maintain IT infrastructure in line with Halma IT guidelines

• Experience of the following Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (and 2005) Administration, Windows Server, SQL, Clustering, Active Directory, Sharepoint/Infopath, Visual Studio, Virtulisation, Microsoft DotNet (version 2.0 and above),SSRS/SSIS, programming skills, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009
• Knowledge of ITIL
• Experience of having working within an IT function servicing a business
