Vacancy Details

A Day in the Life

  • Do you have experience of Electronic components, electro-mechanical assemblies and PCB’s?
  • Do you have a strong manufacturing or quality experience, gained either at Apollo or elsewhere?
  • On offer is the opportunity to become part of our Supplier Quality Team, you will report directly to the Supplier Quality Manager, focussing on the quality and supplier development of Electronics and related commodities
  • You will be involved in resolving sustaining quality issues and projects relating to Supplier Quality and be an important point of contact for suppliers and internal customers on parts quality issues
  • You will ensure that supplier quality performance meets required standards for your commodity
  • You will manage the Material Control Document approval process for your commodities, improving the speed of the process and ensuring that all Apollo requirements are met or exceeded
  • You will look after the Supplier Investigation Report process for your commodities, raising reports and validating corrective actions – closing the loop!
  • Inspect and measure parts and audit and verify supplier inspection reports, ensuring that only conforming parts make it into our manufacturing operation
  • You’ll work alongside the rest of the team taking part in supplier development projects, advising best practice and facilitating change and improvement
  • You will be involved in supplier audits of new and existing suppliers where required
  • You’ll be involved in the NPI process, making sure the right parts are selected for new projects and liaising between Apollo and the supplier
  • Be part of a team who are commencing the journey of change. You will be driving projects that move the needle

 

About You

  • Knowledge and experience of manufacturing and quality processes with an emphasis on Electronics and PCB’s.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent experience and the willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and part specifications, and to clarify and communicate these requirements to suppliers
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Be able to sustain a high level of drive and maintain a professional and enthusiastic approach to work even when under duress
  • Strong numerical skills with the ability to create and analyse data
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work with minimum supervision
  • A team player with good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate confidently and persuasively with a wide variety of people and cultures, up to senior levels
  • Willing to train to fill any gaps in knowledge or skills
  • Comfortable with travelling both inside and outside the UK

 

Bonus Points for Experience with:

  • Knowledge of quality tools and processes – eg 8D, 5Y, Ishikawa, Kaizen, 5S, FMEA et
  • Manufacturing background
  • Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Experience of measuring supplier performance.
  • Experience of working in high volume manufacturing
  • Ability to build strong internal and external cross functional relationships
