Apollo XP95 range is top of the shops at new Russian retail centre

The Kapitoliy Sergiev Posad shopping centre in the city of Sergiev Posad near Moscow attracts around 15,000 visitors each week and is the first of its kind in the city. It was built by international construction company, ENKA İnşaat ve Sanayi A.Ş. (ENKA) in 2014.

The city of Sergiev Posad is not only home to 225,000 residents, but is also visited by thousands of tourists annually due to its esteemed position with the “Golden Ring of Russia” – a collection of ancient cities which feature unique monuments of Russian architecture of the 12th–18th centuries.  One of Sergiev Posad’s most famed attractions is the Trinity Lavra – a 15th century monastery which today remains one of Russia’s largest operating monasteries.

The Project

The new Kapitoliy Sergiev Posad shopping centre hosts around 100 shops, several restaurants and cafes, a hypermarket, five cinema halls, a bowling centre, a children’s playground and 20 offices. As part of the new build construction project, TriC Engineering was tasked to complete the supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of the building’s new fire detection system.

The Installation

Throughout the four-storey building, over 2500 Apollo XP95 fire detectors protect around 40,000m2 of retail, office and communal area spaces. The XP95 detectors are supported by a Kentec Syncro AS control panel which monitors 12 zones on forty loops. The fire detection system interfaces with a number of platforms at the shopping centre, including fire dampers, smoke dampers, deluge valves, the smoke exhaust system and the public announcement system.

The Final Verdict

Commenting on the shopping centre installation, Andrey Repin, General Director of TriC Engineering, said:

TriC has worked with Apollo for over 12 years and we’re very familiar with the XP95 detection range which we find extremely reliable as well as being easy to install and maintain.  As a result of our installation, visitors and staff to the popular Kapitoliy Sergiev Posad shopping centre are better protected, as is the building itself.
