Award-Winning Sustainability Goals
A couple of weeks ago we had the honour of receiving an award from CIBSE for our dedication to sustainability and reducing embodied carbon. We’re humbled to see how the assessment and lowering of our product’s environmental impact have been recognised, with judges praising our proactive approach and aim to lead the industry into a more sustainable future.
We have evaluated the embodied carbon of nearly 100 products using the CIBSE TM65 methodology, ensuring transparency and responsiveness to data requests. We have also carried out life-cycle assessments for 32 products, and four Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are currently undergoing verification!
One key aspect of this push towards building a more sustainable future comes from the diligent and extensive work done by our product and technical teams. Our product redesign initiatives have resulted in substantial reductions in embodied carbon. One of our audio-visual products, for example, has seen its embodied carbon cut by over 1kgCO2e!
Beyond product development, we have also reduced embodied carbon at the manufacturing stage by cutting waste, harnessing onsite renewable electricity, and collaborating with suppliers to decrease carbon in raw materials. A life-cycle assessment estimates these initiatives will contribute to a 114,453 kgCO2e total reduction!
Our commitment to sharing knowledge and fostering industry collaboration is something that was highlighted by the awards. We actively support the wider industry by providing data on the embodied carbon of product systems featuring our components, helping designers, installers and consultants to make more informed, sustainable decisions.
