Apollo Supports Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal

Steve Brown Apollo Fire Detectors Managing Director visited The Haven Salvation Army community centre in Lake Road Portsmouth, to deliver presents donated by Apollo staff for children and elderly persons who may not receive a gift this year.

Apollo Fire Detectors regularly organises charity giving activities at its headquarters in Havant, with the chosen charity being nominated by Apollo staff each month. The Haven Salvation Army Centre was picked for the month of December.

The Christmas toys and gifts donated to the charity were individually chosen and donated by employees at Apollo; they will be wrapped by the Salvation Army and distributed across Portsmouth to families in need, older people and those experiencing homelessness this Christmas.

Throughout the month of December other fundraising activities at Apollo include Dress Down Fridays, a Christmas jumper day and other staff initiatives.  Fundraising is ongoing until the end of this week and the final amount raised will be handed over to The Haven in January.

Rob Warburton Centre Manager at the Haven said “A huge 'thank you' from all of us at the Haven goes to Apollo for the incredible generosity and support - it's absolutely fantastic and will enable us to help so many families here in Portsmouth.”
