Apollo make changes to virtual CPD’s following customer feedback

"‘A huge part of our commitment to keeping people safe from fire is providing our customers with the knowledge they need to excel in our industry. That’s why constantly improving our training offering is really important to us. We’re really grateful to the customers who completed our training survey which enabled us to identify key areas for improvement." Jessica Mann, Customer Journey Manager

Apollo Fire Detectors, specialists in the manufacture of fire detection and alarm devices since 1980, released a large suite of virtual CPD’s in May 2020, due to the national lockdown.

When restrictions were lifted, the fortnightly courses were so popular that Apollo decided to keep them running and were voted ‘Training Provider of the year’ in the Women in Fire Safety Awards 2021. 3 years later, the 1-hour sessions are still going strong, and the company have made some improvements based on a large-scale survey to hundreds of different stakeholders within the fire industry.

The first change is that the courses will be moved from Wednesday mornings to Friday mornings at 11am, every fortnight.

The second change is that over 90% of customers said it’s ‘very important’ that these sessions are available on-demand. Therefore, from now on, after the event has finished, the access link will turn into an on-demand link so registrants can watch the event at a time that suits. However, Apollo won’t be able to give a CPD certificate for watching on demand.

The third and final change is new topics added to the collection of sessions. According to Apollo, the most popular requests were ‘A general overview/introduction to fire systems’ and ‘Protecting educational environments from fire’. Apollo have since created and released these sessions and they’re available to book now: apollo-fire.co.uk/training-support/cpds--webinars.

Jessica Mann, Customer Journey Manager who is part of the team that originally launched the sessions said ‘A huge part of our commitment to keeping people safe from fire is providing our customers with the knowledge they need to excel in our industry. That’s why constantly improving our training offering is really important to us. We’re really grateful to the customers who completed our training survey which enabled us to identify key areas for improvement. This is just the beginning of changes to training; next steps will be to review our face-to-face training offering.’
